How to Register

You may register online at the ACT website or via a postal mail registration packet. For more information about mailing a registration packet, please contact your school's counselor.

When registering online, registration fees must be paid via credit card. If you prefer to write a check or are filing for testing accommodations for the first time, you should be able to obtain Registering for the ACT Assessment from your guidance or college office.

Fees

ACT Registration Fee (without the Writing test) $42.50

Includes a student report, a high school report (if you authorize it), and up to four college reports (if selected when you register).

ACT Plus Writing Fee $58.50

Includes a student report, a high school report (if you authorize it), and up to four college reports (if selected when you register).

Late Registration Fee Additional $27.50

The late registration period extends for 14 days following the regular registration deadline for all test dates except the February 7th test date. The late registration period for that date extends only 7 days beyond the regular registration deadline. The late registration fee is $25 (in addition to the regular registration fee). The process for registering during the late registration period is the same as it is during the regular registration period. Go to the ACT website to register online or by postal mail.

Telephone Re-Registration Fee Additional $15

This service is available only if you have previously registered for a national test date.

Standby Testing Fee Additional $51

Test centers admit standbys on a first-come, first-served basis and only if there are seats, materials, and staff available after all registered students have been admitted.

A student could be turned away; there are no guaranteed seats or test booklets.

To test as a standby, you must bring your Standby Ticket plus acceptable photo identification. All information must be entered online at the time of Standby Registration in order for the standby request to be considered valid. This includes uploading a student photo and submitting payment information.

Test Date Change Fee Additional $25

Test Center Change Fee Additional $25

College Report Fee Additional $12 per test date per report

The College Report fee applies to each report beyond the four included in the registration fee and to those reports requested after the test date.
