It’s hard to keep up with kids these days.

The problem isn’t the technology gap, or the differing perspectives between generations (well, not all of it anyway)—it’s mainly that relating with hundreds of different students from as many different circumstances that all need the same kind of support and on-call insight can get a little challenging from time to time.

In East Texas GEAR UP for Success, Central ISD has found an innovative solution in their peer mentoring program. After trying other styles of mentoring that just didn’t yield the results they were looking for, using student mentors proved to be the winning approach.
