Introduction for Educators: Building relationships with people who have gone before them can help students plan their own lives. This activity is all about identifying people who will support them and/or provide helpful information during their college financial planning.
Introduction for Students: If you were going to go sky-diving, would you rather go with someone who was terrified or someone who had already gone and was excited to jump again?
Are there people in your life who've already paid for college or helped someone pay for college? How helpful would it be to have them with you while making your plan to pay for college?
The Activity: Make a list of people, including members of your family, who have experience paying for college, managing businesses, or managing money.
Then tell one person today that you're planning to go to college, and you’re learning right now about how to pay for it.
