The To College & Beyond initiative aims to increase the academic performance and postsecondary preparation levels for all learners—while simultaneously boosting educational expectations and understanding for entire families. Students, parents, and teachers will all have access to enriching supportive services (from tutoring to financial literacy workshops to professional development, with a whole lot in between) to help create a significant bump in postsecondary participation rates. The grant is also collaborating with strategically selected business and community partners, as well as additional higher-ed institutions, to ensure that cohort students are receiving the most effective support possible on their journeys to future college and career success.
Program Highlights
- The opportunity to be part of GEAR UP parent councils will empower family members to get more involved in their students’ postsecondary prep process.
- Students can stay engaged and focused even when school’s out for the summer through bridge courses and camps/programs that focus on college knowledge and readiness activities.
- Professional development training in school leadership and district administration will be offered to senior-level educators.
