“Texas GEAR UP in Action” is a brand-new video series that goes behind the scenes of successful (and promising) programs being implemented by TXGU grant projects around the state. Our first highlighted endeavor is Bryan ISD GEAR UP’s dropout recovery and prevention program, which focused specifically on the class of 2014 GEAR UP cohort. One GEAR UP team member literally knocked on doors all over Bryan to encourage students to return to school, while simultaneously setting up practices and lines of communication aimed at preventing future drop-outs.
