Student Snapshots

You know it, and we know it—your TXGU students are each one in a million. But what if they were one in a hundred? Specifically, the entire country's college population distilled down to 100 students. That might just be the best way to understand what the lives of American college-goers truly look like. And spoiler: It might just look a lot like the lives of your TXGU kids...

Of course, envisioning themselves in college can be a little challenging for many TXGU students, especially when they haven't seen faces like theirs on recruitment posters and they don't have parents eager to just write a check to send a son/daughter off to the family alma mater. Happily, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is shining a light on the real story of higher education through an infographic that compresses college students across America into a sample of 100—sharing what the data really reveals and helping to bring a sense of visibility, relatability, and humanity to the clinical college statistics we're used to seeing.

When your TXGU kids see themselves reflected in an objective and easily understood chart, it'll be much simpler for them to actually visualize themselves in that college-student role you're helping them towards. Sometimes graphics can be downright magical.
